Patricia Morris portrait
For the past decade Patricia has been exploring Canadian highways and byways from coast to coast to coast. She records her adventures using an SLR camera with a slow shutter speed accentuating the idea of movement through space and time. Fleeting moments, and the journey itself, are sustained. These images later combine with memories and impressions to form compositions rendered in a distinct, refined and fluid manner.

Visits to Nunavut and Labrador in 2019 will complete her Canadian representation.

Ms. Morris began her artistic career by exhibiting installations and sculptures in Montreal QC, Sackville NB and St. John's, NL. This was followed by an exploration of abstraction with a variety of two dimensional media, while exhibiting in Kingston, Ottawa and Toronto. During this time Patricia Morris taught art at secondary and elementary levels in Ontario and Quebec.

Born in Beauharnois, Quebec, Patricia Morris spent her early childhood in Kitimat, British Columbia, and Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University, a Masters of Fine Arts from Concordia University, and a Diploma in Art Education from McGill University.
